Books on the Move

Dan Lain-lain

The collaborative project between Books On The Move Malaysia and various organizations including Biji-biji Initiative, Me.reka Makerspace, Think City, Prasarana, Youth Made Malaysia, and the British High Commission KL resulted in the creation of environmentally friendly mobile libraries. This initiative aimed to foster a reading culture, providing accessible spaces for book exchange and igniting a collective passion for literature.

These environmentally friendly installations, crafted from repurposed oil drums, served as beacons of knowledge when commuting within Kuala Lumpur. The creative spark came from a group of talented high school students who brought their playful designs to life during a creative thinking workshop.

To add an artistic touch, university art students contributed their talent to the project, adorning the mobile libraries with captivating murals. These visual masterpieces transformed the installations into captivating works of art, inviting passersby to discover the wonders within.
