Jauhar

Dan Lain-lain

A public sculpture designed for UEM Sunrise and nestled in Iskandar Puteri, Johor, draws inspiration from the Arabic etymology of the state's name - jauhar, meaning "precious stone." This carefully crafted artwork not only captures the allure of gemstones but also serves as a catalyst for contemplation and reflection on the history and heritage of the region.

Through its three-dimensional tessellation of rhombus shapes and the evocation of cut diamonds' enchanting facets, the sculpture presents a visual spectacle that prompts both locals and visitors to ponder the significance of the state's name. By incorporating elements of gemstones into its design, the artwork symbolically connects with Johor's past, referencing the preciousness and historical value associated with jauhar.

As viewers engage with the sculpture, they are invited to delve into the rich history and heritage of Iskandar Puteri and Johor. The intricate details and interplay of light and shadow on its surfaces create an immersive experience, encouraging contemplation and sparking curiosity about the state's origins and cultural significance.
